Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Really good food here! I tried the scotch egg, Scottish ale and venison meatloaf sandwich. All very delicious. And dined outside The menu only has full pours listed but you can get smaller pours which I did Excellent location for people like me, staying at the hotel across the street and looking for something hearty after a long day by the water"
"There are many gems on the menu. Fantastic food you won't find elsewhere in the Fox Cities. The fish and chips is top notch. Well made with a generous portion of fish. Every time I go I get the home made root beer. It is the best I've ever had."
"We had great service and 5 of us had different dinners which were all exceptional. My smelt was so good and I would definitely get it again. Salmon chowder was amazing as well. Great selection of food and beer."
"Excellent location and top-notch food! If you're from the Chicagoland area and wanting to experience something special look no further, and if needing a laugh you can head upstairs for the Comedy Cafe, then stop in the gift shop for some wine to go and souvenirs. Enjoy!"
"Decided to stop by and give this place a try. It was not super busy, but the noise made it hard to hear our server. We got pizza and a pulled pork sandwich, with fresh chips (made fresh, but not warm). The pizza had lots of oregano on it and the cheese was pretty flavorless. The pulled pork was chunks of pork (not what I think of when I get pulled pork), but tasted fine. We got the cheese curd appetizer and have never gotten square cubes of cheese before. They were good, but for the quantity, they were pretty pricey. Bill was $51 before tip with 1 soft drink. Not my kind of place/food."
"My two sons and I frequent the Stone Arch Tied House on an almost weekly (sometimes more) basis. The staff are always friendly, cordial, and inviting. The food is also always amazing and the number of beer styles they have on tap at one time is also a good variety. To be honest I've never really had a bad beer, some of my favorites are the Here Comes the Sprooster IIPA, Vanilla Stout, Malted Milball Doppelbock and Blindsided Barley Wine. Updated to 5 stars after previous concern was addressed."
"Our server was fantastic. There were 6 of us & all of our orders were correct & she was very attentive. The spinach artichoke dip was fantastic. I had some leftovers & it was still great. My son gave the chips 5 ⭐! 2 ppl got the Scotch Egg & said they were good. The cheese curds looked great but it's not a shareable appetizer. I had Fish & Chips. It was fine. The fries were a sweet & salty seasoning which was a surprise. I wasn't super crazy about them. The haddock was fine. My husband said the Reuben was good but salty. A friend said the same about the Schnitzel. Overall, it was a good experience but I'd probably try something different next time."
"Really nice place to have a drink or eat or both. They have a variety of drinks. Cocktails, mocktails, beers on tap, wine and more. Plenty of food choices. I had the Margherita pizza made in house. They buy the dow though. Still it was a good pizza. Staff is friendly and professional. Plenty of seating."
